As you likely noticed, our website was down last week. Finalsite, our website host and provider, experienced a major disruption of certain computer systems on their network that impacted thousands of schools worldwide.
Chicora Elementary held a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) assembly to celebrate the positive behaviors students demonstrated throughout the first nine weeks. Students earned tickets throughout the first nine weeks for demonstrating positive behavior. At the assembly, tickets were drawn and a variety of prizes were given out to students.
Friday, October 1 was "7th Grade Day" at the high school. Seventh grade students participated in team-building and leadership exercises, which were led by our seventh grade teachers and school counselor, Mrs. Loheyde.
UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is proudly partnering with the Karns City Area School District to provide a voluntary opportunity for employees, eligible students, and community members to be vaccinated against COVID-19 with the Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
We were made aware of a general threat to schools on September 30 that was posted online. Although the threat did not specifically identify the KCASD or any specific school for that matter, law enforcement has discerned that it may have been posted from somebody in Butler County.
